Altiris Certification Exams Now Available at Pearson VUE™ Authorized Centers Worldwide

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., October 26, 2004 — Pearson VUE, the electronic testing business of Pearson Education, today announced it signed a contract with Altiris to be the test delivery provider of all computer-based Altiris certification exams. Altiris exams are now available in the Pearson VUE Authorized Center global network of more than 3,700 test centers.

Altiris develops software to help IT organizations and business partners automate, simplify and reduce the cost and complexity of Information Technology management. Altiris certification provides business partners with validation and credibility as an Altiris expert while helping Altiris maintain service quality and consistency. In addition to the Altiris Certified Professional and Altiris Certified Engineer certification levels, the company recently announced the Authorized Altiris Consultant program, the first consulting certification and training program for Altiris Business Partners.

Terry Mongalier, Altiris vice president of Professional Services, said, “Altiris partners from as far away as South Africa have expressed interest in our new Authorized Altiris Consultant program but were concerned that they would not have convenient access to our certification resources. Pearson VUE testing solutions help us efficiently scale and extend our partner programs around the world.”

“We’re excited Altiris chose Pearson VUE as its testing solution partner,” said Bob Whelan, Pearson VUE vice president and general manager. “Altiris is providing exam candidates with more options of where and when to test. Additionally, the ability to use our CERTS® Product test development and program administration software will play an integral part in the expansion and management of the new Altiris certification program.”

Pearson VUE (www.pearsonvue.com) is the electronic testing business of Pearson Education, which in turn is part of Pearson (NYSE: PSO; LSE: PSON), the international media company. Pearson’s primary operations also include the Financial Times Group and the Penguin Group.
