NCLEX® Examinations Now Available at the Manila, Philippines, Pearson Professional Center

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., August 22, 2007 — The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN®) together with Pearson VUE, announce expanded testing availability for the NCLEX® examination to Manila, the capital of the Philippines. Exam delivery begins at the Pearson VUE-owned and -operated Pearson Professional Center in Manila on August 23, 2007.

“The NCSBN is pleased to expand availability of the NCLEX examination to Manila. Security of the examination process is a primary concern for the NCSBN. By working collaboratively with Pearson VUE to deliver the NCLEX examination in the Manila Pearson Professional Center, we are able to utilize the latest in biometric technology and security processes. We are confident that we will provide greater customer service and convenience to nursing candidates without compromising the integrity of the NCLEX examination process,” said Casey Marks, PhD, Associate Executive Director, Business Operations, NCSBN.

The Manila, Philippines, site will join the following international Pearson VUE locations in offering NCLEX testing: London, England; Hong Kong; Sydney, Australia; Toronto, Montreal, and Vancouver, Canada; Frankfurt, Germany; Mumbai, New Delhi, Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai, India; Mexico City, Mexico; Taipei, Taiwan; and Chiyoda-ku and Yokohama, Japan. The NCLEX examination is also available at over 200 Pearson Professional Centers throughout the United States and its territories.

Intended for the purposes of domestic nurse licensure in U.S. states and territories, all security policies and procedures currently used to administer the NCLEX examination domestically will be fully implemented at the Pearson Professional Center in Manila.
