American College of Sports Medicine Signs Contract Renewal with Pearson VUE

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., September 22, 2008 — Pearson VUE, the electronic certification and licensure testing business of Pearson, announced that it signed a long-term renewal contract with American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). ACSM certification exams will continue to be delivered globally, in over 4,400 Pearson VUE® Authorized Test Centers in 162 countries.

ACSM is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world, with more than 20,000 International, National and Regional Chapter members. ACSM offers four certification credentials, including the ACSM Certified Personal TrainerSM, ACSM Health/Fitness Instructor®, ACSM Exercise Specialist® and ACSM Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist®. ACSM certification programs are accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
