Pearson VUE announces new Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA) Certificate Exam Available
BLOOMINGTON, Minn., October 21, 2008 — Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, announces the release of the Professional Risk Managers’ International Association (PRMIA)’s new Associate PRM certificate. The Associate PRM certificate is available exclusively through the expansive worldwide network of Pearson VUE® Authorized Test Centers and Pearson VUE® Authorized Test Center Select locations.
The Associate Professional Risk Manager (Associate PRM) is a new PRMIA certificate program intended for staff entering the risk management profession, or those who interface with risk management disciplines on a regular basis, such as auditing, accounting, legal, and systems development personnel who want to understand fundamental risk management methods and practices. The new program will cover the core concepts allowing non-specialists to interpret risk management information and reports, make critical assessments and evaluate the implications and limitations of such results, without the depth of mathematical and theoretical understanding required for PRMIA’s flagship program, the Professional Risk Manager (PRM™) certification.
“PRMIA’s launch of the Associate PRM certificate could not be more timely,” said Steve Lindo, executive director of PRMIA. “The turbulence which is currently affecting global financial markets has prompted worldwide calls for a re-commitment to financial education designed to provide a clear understanding of risks involved, integrity, structure and appropriate governance.”
“Pearson VUE has built a strong relationship with PRMIA over the last four years,” explained Robert Whelan, president of Pearson VUE. “We are confident that Pearson VUE’s global test center network and innovative technology will continue to support the growth of their certification programs.”
Pearson is an international media company with market-leading businesses in education, business information and consumer publishing. Prentice Hall, Addison Wesley and Longman are just a few of Pearsonís prestigious education brands. Pearson VUE is the computer-based testing business of Pearson.
