Pearson VUE Signs Test Delivery Contract with Environmental Health Testing, LLC

Pearson VUE to deliver National Registry of Food Safety Professionals’™ Food Safety Manager Certification Examination™

BLOOMINGTON, Minn., April 3, 2009 — Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, today announced that it has signed an agreement with Environmental Health Testing, LLC (EHT) to be the test delivery provider of the EHT’s flagship examination program, the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals™ (NRFSP). Beginning April 2009, The NRFSP’s Food Safety Manager Certification Examination™ (FSMCE) will be delivered throughout the secure Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of Pearson Professional Centers, supplemented in some locations with Pearson VUE’s third-party channel of Pearson VUE® Authorized Test Centers throughout the United States and its territories.

The NRFSP’s Food Safety Manager Certification Examination was the first examination managed by Environmental Health Testing and has rapidly grown to become the second largest food manager certification exam in the United States. The exam is offered to food safety professionals throughout the United States with a growing global presence. Through the exam these professionals demonstrate that their knowledge and skills meet specified food safety standards adopted by the Conference for Food Protection to protect the public from food-borne illnesses. The program also meets the requirements for demonstration of knowledge as described in the US FDA Food Code. The exam is available in the following languages: English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, modern and traditional Chinese, Arabic, and Japanese.

“Because our National Registry examination program is expanding, we began the search for a test delivery provider that could grow with us,” said Lawrence Lynch, president, Environmental Health Testing. “We want to make the FSMCE exam convenient to our candidates, so we looked for a provider with both an extensive test center network as well as top-notch customer service. Pearson VUE was able to meet all of our requirements, and we are truly excited to partner with them as we continue to grow our program.”

“Pearson VUE has many assets in place to help companies like EHT expand their program’s reach,” said Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. “The National Registry of Food Safety Professionals is an internationally recognized program, and we look forward to helping them maintain their leadership position within the food safety industry.”
