Pearson VUE and the CAIA Association Renew Exclusive Testing Agreement
BLOOMINGTON, Minn., April 29, 2011 — Pearson VUE, the computer-based testing business of Pearson, announced today that the Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA) Association has chosen to extend its exclusive multi-year contract with Pearson VUE for computer-based delivery of the CAIA designation exams. These exams will continue to be delivered throughout the Pearson VUE-owned and -operated network of more than 264 Pearson Professional Centers as well as select test centers in specific locations throughout the world.
The CAIA program provides individuals with the core competencies required to create, manage and monitor an institutional-quality portfolio consisting of both traditional investments and five core areas of alternative investments: hedge funds, managed futures, private equity, commodities and real assets. Twice a year, in March and September, thousands of candidates from around the world sit for the CAIA exams at Pearson VUE test centers. Candidates must pass Level I and II to qualify for the CAIA designation.
“We’re pleased to continue administering tests for the only designation that certifies alternative investment expertise,” explained Robert Whelan, president and chief executive officer of Pearson VUE. “We are honored that CAIA values the role we play in that process.”
“We look forward to growing our program and candidate base around the world and in emerging markets, particularly India and China,” explained Florence Lombard, CEO of the CAIA Association. “Based on our experience with Pearson VUE, we believe they have the global coverage, channel structure and security requirements needed to help the CAIA Association extend its reach and achieve its goals.”
