Earn the Professional Certified Marketer (PCM)® credential from the American Marketing Association
Coordinated through Professional Testing (PTI).
Now, more than ever, you need to stand out in the marketplace. AMA’s Professional Certified Marketer (PCM®) program is the perfect way to showcase your expertise and set yourself apart.
The PCM® credential from the American Marketing Association is a symbol of professional excellence that affirms your mastery of marketing knowledge and commitment to quality in the practice of marketing. Certification, which is voluntary, requires passing a rigorous and comprehensive exam and then maintaining your certification through continuing education.
To apply for the credential, please go to https://www.takemytest.com/ama and submit your application. Once your application is approved, you will receive an authorization-to-test email.
Before scheduling an exam, you must have received an authorization-to-test email, which is sent by Professional Testing on behalf of AMA. For more information, visit the AMA PCM® website or follow the “Related Links” on this page. You may also contact the AMA PCM® Program at 1.800.AMA.1150, ext. 9039 (toll-free in U.S.) or +1.312.542.9039.
Your registration is valid for 365 days (one year) from the date that the authorization-to-test email is issued by the AMA. It is your responsibility to schedule an appointment for that exam during the one-year period and to sit for the exam during that time.
Scheduling for a computer-based exam
First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Please note that account activation may require up to 24 hours. When creating your account and scheduling your exam, you will need your AMA candidate ID number from the authorization-to-test email sent to you upon completion of the application process.
After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
Obtain general information about computer-based testing and answers to FAQ, as well as practice taking a general exam using the computer.
