FAQs for Cisco Admissions Change

What are the changes to the admission process for Cisco candidates?

The admission process will now include enhanced security requirements for all test centers that wish to deliver Cisco exams. Test centers will be supplied with two digital cameras (one for back-up), one digital signature pad and one camera stand. Candidates will be photographed and asked to provide a digital signature, in addition to the current identification and admission requirements. The photograph and signature will become a permanent part of each candidate’s Cisco certification record. You will receive an update to the Cisco Exams chapter providing full instructions concerning the new process.

Why are Cisco and Pearson VUE requiring these enhancements?

These enhancements are an important part of our ongoing commitment to ensuring the integrity of Cisco certifications. Following a successful pilot in selected countries, Cisco decided to add these security measures to its admissions process globally. Candidates’ photos and signatures will be stored as part of each candidate’s permanent certification record.

Do PVTC Selects need to make changes too?

PVTC Selects are already using the new security measures. PVTC Selects will use their existing equipment to photograph and collect signatures from Cisco candidates, as they do now.

How will this process be implemented in existing test centers?

Within the next few weeks, Pearson VUE will provide detailed instructions concerning the new requirements to all test centers currently delivering Cisco exams. Test centers will be required to implement the new security procedures within a specified timeframe.

Will Cisco’s new authentication procedure lengthen the admissions process for test candidates?

The average check-in process should take less than five minutes. If you would like a preview of Cisco’s enhanced admission process, please view the Flash presentation.
