As the global IT industry association, CompTIA builds vendor-neutral certifications that measure foundational skills. They show employers you have the skills to do the job, regardless of the vendor of the hardware or software product. Many of these exams are also prerequisites or electives for more advanced vendor certifications. It really is the starting point for a career in IT. Plus, earning a certification not only proves you have the right skills, but also the dedication and commitment to your career to continue learning.

Effective June 15, 2015, the CompTIA IT Fundamentals exam (FC0-U51; FC0-Z51) will no longer be available for sale. In an effort to better serve individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in information technology, CompTIA is evaluating how to best position the exam to reach a broader audience. The exam will remain available for testing for those candidates who have already scheduled to take the exam or have previously purchased a voucher. The CompTIA Strata brand and all related certification exams are retiring on August 31, 2015. Anyone studying for these exams is encouraged to complete their studies and seek certification prior to the retirement date. Exam vouchers already purchased for exams JK0-U31, FC0-U11, JK0-U11, FC0-U21 and JK0-U21 will be valid through August 31, 2015. Vouchers not used by the retirement date will expire and become void.
Vouchers purchased for the CompTIA Strata exams, including the Strata IT Fundamentals exam, FC0-U41, should be used prior to its retirement on August 31, 2015. All Strata exam vouchers must be redeemed and any Strata exams must be completed by August 31, 2015.

You do not need a voucher to schedule a CompTIA exam. Members and non-members can register on line using a credit card.
CompTIA requires the candidate to review the CompTIA Candidate Agreement prior to beginning an exam. The candidate will be allowed fifteen minutes.
CompTIA exam vouchers are available for purchase through the CompTIA Marketplace or the Pearson VUE Voucher Store. If a certification requires more than one exam, multiple vouchers will need to be purchased.
