Important Exam Information
Associate Level
Important Announcement:
The Information Storage and Management Exam (E20-001) continues to be the preferred exam to achieve the Associate level certification not only for the Storage Technologist track, but also for the Technology Architect, Implementation Engineer, Customer Engineer, and Storage Administrator tracks.
The Information Storage and Management Exam (E20-001) will be updated on August 7, 2009.
If you have already passed the EMC Technology Foundations Exam (E20-040) you do not need to pass the E20-001, Information Storage and Management exam to pursue Specialist level certification in the Technology Architect, Implementation Engineer, Customer Engineer, or Storage Administrator tracks.
The EMC Technology Foundations – CLARiiON Exam (E20-050) is the qualifying Associate exam for CLARiiON Specialties only.
The EMC Backup and Recovery Foundations Exam (E20-097) is the qualifying exam for Associate level certification in Backup and Recovery specialties only. Information Storage and Management, Storage Technology Foundations and EMC Technology Foundations are also acceptable for progression in the Backup and Recovery specialties.
Content Management Exams
The Content Management Foundations Exam (E20-120) is the qualifying exam required to achieve Associate level Certification for Content Management tracks: Application Developer, System Administrator, Technology Architect (Content Management). Further recognition can be achieved by passing the Content Management exams at the Specialist level. Be sure to review the most current exam description and suggested training courses on the CMA Education Services website.
The Content Management Application Architecture Specialist Exam (E20-485) is the qualifying exam for the EMC Proven Professional Technology Architect Specialist track for Content Management Application Architects. Recommended preparation for this exam is the Architecting EMC Documentum Applications course. This hands-on course focuses on mapping business requirements into Enterprise Content Management application design using developer tools as well as EMC Documentum application programming interfaces.

Implementation Engineer Specialist Exams
The Storage Area Network (SAN) Implementation Exam (E20-351) was updated on June 26, 2009.
Backup and Recovery - NetWorker Implementation Exam (E20-593) specialty rename (only) effective July 1, 2009. View more information here.
Implementation Engineer Expert Exams
The CLARiiON Solutions Expert Exam for Implementation Engineers (E20-850) was updated on May 8, 2009.
The Symmetrix Business Continuity Exam for Implementation Engineers (E20-845) was updated on June 19, 2009.
Product Technology Specific Exams
NEW: Avamar Backup and Data Deduplication Exam (E22-280) is available. This exam is a qualifying exam for the EMC Avamar Product/Technology certification. The exam focuses on ensuring individuals are knowledgeable in EMC Avamar concepts and terminology. It requires the successful candidate to demonstrate the knowledge required to implement, configure, monitor and administer an EMC Avamar backup solution in single and multi-node environments. In addition, this exam covers supported Avamar configurations and editions, including software only, Avamar Virtual Edition, and Avamar Data Store; and Avamar integration with database applications.
NEW: SourceOne Email Management Administration (E22-185) was updated May 29, 2009. The SourceOne Email Management Administration Exam focuses on installing, configuring, and troubleshooting EMC SourceOne Email Management. Day-to-day administrative tasks such as creating various activities around email archiving, searching for and restoring archived messages, tuning, and monitoring of the servers are also covered.
NEW: SourceOne Email Management and Discovery Manager Administration (E22-187) will be available July 10, 2009. The SourceOne Email Management and Discovery Manager Administration Exam focuses on installing, configuring, and troubleshooting EMC SourceOne Email Management and Discovery Manager. Day-to-day administrative tasks such as creating various activities around email archiving, searching for and restoring archived messages, tuning, and monitoring of the servers are also covered.
The RecoverPoint Data Replication and Recovery Exam (E22-275) is now available. EMC RecoverPoint provides continuous data protection and continuous remote replication enabling any-point-in-time recovery to protect data against loss or corruption. This exam focuses on the design and deployment of EMC RecoverPoint. It also covers RecoverPoint features and functionality.
Storage Administrator Specialist Exams
