Oncology Nursing Certification
The term “Exam” is used below to reference either a certification examination or a learning needs assessment. Although the assessment is not a test (you will not receive a pass/fail score), the term “Exam” is used throughout this site in reference to both tests and assessments.

ONCC offers computer based OCN®, CBCN®, CPHON®, AOCNP®, AOCNS®, and BMTCN™ certification tests. In order to schedule a testing appointment you must have applied for and received an Authorization to Test. Authorization for Assessment Candidates
ONCC offers learning needs assessments for OCN®, CBCN®, AOCNP®, AOCNS®, and CPHON® certification renewal candidates. In order to access the assessment you must have an Authorization to Assess. Candidates who are eligible to complete the assessment and who have a valid email address will be sent the Authorization to Assess from Pearson VUE (PearsonVUEConfirmation@pearson.com); the subject line will indicate “ONCC Authorization to Assess.” All other candidates will be sent the Authorization to Assess via regular mail. The Authorization to Assess contains information you will need to access your assessment.
ONCC offers computer-based practice tests for each of its examinations. One free practice test is available for each examination and additional practice tests are available for purchase.
Appointments may be made in advance or on the day you wish to test, subject to availability. For certification testing outside North America, please contact ONCC directly.
You will not schedule an appointment time to take your assessment. However, you must complete the scheduling process to access your assessment. Once you begin the scheduling process you will have 24 hours in which to access your assessment. Once you start the assessment, you will have a 2-hour timed session to complete the assessment. You must take the assessment in one sitting. You may not exit and return to the assessment during the 2-hour period. To schedule your assessment, click the “Schedule Online” button below. Please note: you cannot complete the scheduling process by phone.
Please do not proceed until you are ready to take the assessment. Once you proceed to the scheduling process, you must take the assessment within 24 hours.
IMPORTANT: Mobile devices are not supported; you may not take the assessment on any type of mobile device. Assessments must be taken on a computer with internet access.
