Wisconsin National Evaluation Series/Foundations of Reading

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has approved the National Evaluation Series as a licensure testing option for Wisconsin educators who hold a valid Professional Educator license and who wish to add a related license in the following content areas: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, English Language Arts, History, Mathematics, and Physics.  In addition, beginning on January 1, 2014, teacher candidates in Wisconsin applying for an initial license in grades Kindergarten through 5 or special education, or for a license as a reading teacher or reading specialist, will be required to take and pass the Foundations of Reading test, a test of reading instruction knowledge and skills administered by the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson.

Registration

To take a test, you must first complete the registration and payment process at the Wisconsin program website: www.wi.nesinc.com

Scheduling

Once you have registered to take a test, you may schedule your test appointment online 7 days per week, 24 hours per day. Test appointments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

To schedule a test appointment, log in to your Wisconsin account at the site noted above and select “schedule” on the current registration page for the test you wish to schedule.

After you schedule your test appointment, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.

Rescheduling or Canceling a Test

To reschedule or cancel a test appointment, log in to your account at the Wisconsin program Website and follow the instructions provided on the current registrations page: www.wi.nesinc.com
