HOBOKEN, N.J., USA – 9 April 2026 - Pearson (FTSE: PSON.L) and its Pearson Professional Assessments business, the global leader in computer-based professional certification and licensure exam delivery, today announced the opening of its newest company-owned test center for high-stakes examinations, which is located in the same building as the Jordanian Nursing Council (JNC) in Amman, Jordan. The new Pearson Professional Center (PPC) can deliver 7,200 exams annually, enabling the attainment of trusted professional credentials for critical roles across sectors and regions.
“Pearson is proud to expand its test center network into Jordan, supporting more candidates in earning certifications and licensures that advance careers and respond to the need for in-demand skills both locally and internationally,” said Laura Peterson, Managing Director, Pearson Professional Assessments.
The new PPC will administer the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN) on behalf of the U.S. National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN). This represents the first effort of its kind between Pearson Professional Assessments and the NCSBN to establish a test center in Amman to help address the ongoing shortage of skilled nurses.
“Pearson Professional Assessments has deep experience supporting the healthcare credentialing sector and has administered examinations for more than 120 healthcare certification programs globally. The new Pearson Professional Center in Amman will improve access and convenience for nurses in the region who are pursuing these vital careers, at home and in other countries," said Peterson. “Professionals who obtain these credentials are recognized internationally, particularly within the medical and healthcare fields."
Beyond the NCLEX-RN examination, the center will also administer other high-stakes professional and licensure examinations on behalf of Pearson clients including Cisco, the Project Management Institute, Graduate Management Admission Council, and the UK’s Nursing and Midwifery Council. The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with top-tier security measures to uphold the integrity of the tests and provide the best possible candidate experience.
