ASCP Board of Certification

The ASCP Board of Certification is an administratively independent certification agency that prepares relevant standards and develops procedures that will assure the competence of medical laboratory professionals.

The ASCP Board of Certification certifies individuals who have met the academic and clinical prerequisites and who achieve acceptable performance levels on examinations.

Scheduling Your Certification Examination

Before scheduling an examination appointment, you must have:

1. Completed the online application and submitted an application fee through the ASCP Board of Certification.
2. Met all eligibility requirements.
3. Login to view your Admission Notification.

You must take the examination within the examination period indicated on your Admission Notification. If you cancel without rescheduling or miss your scheduled appointment, you must reapply for examination.

All scheduling, cancelling, and re-scheduling of examination appointments is between the examinee and Pearson.

Scheduling

Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance. After you successfully schedule your appointment, Pearson will send confirmation that includes your test date and time, and the address, phone number, and directions to the test center.

Applicants are solely responsible for making and keeping their scheduled examination appointment. If you cancel without rescheduling or miss your exam appointment, you must reapply for examination. To verify your appointment, contact Pearson. Application fees are non-transferable and non-refundable.

Rescheduling

You must contact Pearson at least one full business day (24 hours) prior to your exam date and time to reschedule an appointment. You may only reschedule within your eligibility period.

Scheduling changes must be made and confirmed with Pearson. Leaving a voice mail is not sufficient to reschedule your appointment.

If you have successfully rescheduled your test date, you will receive a confirmation email from Pearson within 24 hours. If you do not receive an email, you have not successfully rescheduled.
