ABVLM Certification Testing
The American Board of Venous & Lymphatic Medicine (ABVLM), formerly the American Board of Phlebology (ABPh), was founded to provide and maintain a certification exam in venous and lymphatic medicine, to issue certificates to physicians passing the exam, and to offer a resource to the public for finding certified vein specialists. Certification demonstrates that physicians have met rigorous standards of education, experience, and evaluation. In order to become certified, a physician must:
- Complete the requisite training or experience qualifications
- Meet the continuing medical education requisites
- Pass a certification examination
Scheduling
First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Appointments may be made up to one business day in advance.
After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
Exam Delivery Methods
ABVLM currently offers two options for exam delivery:
- Test Center Delivery: Exams can be taken at Pearson VUE’s worldwide network of testing centers.
- OnVUE Online Proctoring: Candidates may schedule their exam for a specific date and time and take it from a secure, qualifying location using a computer. Learn more about OnVUE Online Proctoring to understand the process and technical requirements.
