APICS Credential Programs

NOTE

APICS exams and certifications reside under the Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) portfolio and therefore are managed by ASCM.

APICS exams and certifications reside under the Association of Supply Chain Management (ASCM) portfolio and therefore are managed by ASCM.

All candidates must either purchase their exam by logging into the ASCM website and completing the checkout process or have their exam assigned to them by an ASCM chapter or partner. Once candidates purchase their exam either through direct payment or receipt from an ASCM Chapter or Partner, an Authorization to Test (ATT) is created. An ATT is required in order to schedule an exam with Pearson VUE. After completing the exam purchase, candidates will receive an ATT confirmation email from ASCM with scheduling instructions, the expiration date of the ATT, and other exam-related information. Candidates must test before the expiration date of their ATT. More information about testing policies, including the conditions under which an ATT extension can be granted are outlined in the APICS Exam Handbook.

ASCM is recognized as the premier provider of research, education and certification programs focused on supply chain, operations management, logistics, and supply chain transformation.

Test Registration & Scheduling Information

Registration

To take an APICS exam, you must first obtain an Authorization to Test (ATT) by purchasing your exam through the ASCM website at www.ascm.org, or purchasing through an authorized ASCM Chapter or Partner as described above.

Scheduling

After registering for an APICS exam, you can schedule your exam appointment online via your ASCM My Account  at any time—registration and scheduling are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Test appointments are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. ASCM recommends taking the exam within the first three months following the completion of a class or learning system and scheduling two months ahead of your desired exam date to ensure the appropriate availability.

After you schedule your test appointment, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email with your confirmed test date and time. For in-person exams, the email will include the address and phone number of the test center along with directions. For OnVUE online proctored exams, the email will provide instructions for accessing your online exam session. Please check this information carefully for any errors. If you do not receive an appointment confirmation email after scheduling your exam, please contact Pearson VUE support. Please check this information carefully for any errors. Rescheduling and canceling an exam

Candidates who need to reschedule or cancel their exam appointment can make modifications in their ASCM My Account or by calling Pearson VUE directly (additional fees may apply). ASCM cannot accept cancelation/reschedule requests by email or online chat. There is a non-refundable USD $45 rescheduling and cancelation fee. An additional service fee of $10 will be applied to all reservations, reschedules, or cancelations completed by the Pearson VUE call center. Candidates must reschedule or cancel their test center appointment at least 48 hours prior to their exam appointment. Reschedule or cancelation requests received less than 48 hours before the scheduled exam appointment will not be accepted. For OnVUE (online) exam appointments, candidates may reschedule or cancel their online appointment up to the time of the exam appointment time. If the candidate does not test, the candidate forfeits the exam fees.

Rescheduling or canceling your exam does not extend your ATT validity period, and you must test before your ATT expiration date. Only available timeslots that fall on or before your ATT expiration date will be shown during the rescheduling process.

To reschedule or cancel your appointment online, visit the ASCM website and log in to your ASCM My Account. Then, click on the “Certifications” section and select “Exams.” Finally, select the “Reschedule Exam” button for the exam that you wish to reschedule. This will direct you to the Pearson VUE scheduling system where you can choose a new examination date or cancel your exam appointment.

After successfully completing the rescheduling process, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email to you. Candidates are responsible for ensuring that their exam date has been successfully changed. Failure to confirm that a reschedule or cancelation request has been successfully processed or changed will not excuse a missed exam appointment.

Emergencies and Additional Information

Exam fees are forfeited for no-shows. Exceptions may be made for medical or other emergencies. If candidates miss the exam due to an emergency, they must contact Pearson VUE within 10 business days after the exam date. Pearson VUE contact information can be found at Pearson VUE customer service. Only authorized emergencies will be considered. Additional information regarding all APICS examinations including the emergency policy and the conditions under which an extension may be granted are outlined in the APICS Exam Handbook and Testing Policies.
