The Certified CrossFit Trainer (CCFT) designs and leads CrossFit workouts for both groups and individuals, from beginning to advanced, that are safe, effective, and appropriate for individuals who are apparently healthy or have medical clearance to exercise. The CCFT teaches, assesses, guides and corrects the performance of functional movements, educates and inspires clients about fitness- and health-related topics, such as nutrition, to help them in adopting healthful behaviors that facilitate exercise program success, and recognizes the limitations of his or her own knowledge and skill set and refers to other professionals when appropriate.
Before scheduling a CCFT exam, you must meet the prerequisites, apply, pay the designated fee, and receive an authorization-to-test email from CrossFit Inc. For more information, visit the CrossFit Certification website.
Scheduling for a computer based exam
Your authorization-to-test email will tell you the first and last dates you may take the exam. It is up to you to make an appointment to take the exam in that timeframe.
Exam appointments may be made up to one business day in advance. Locations are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so it is advisable to schedule early.
First-time test takers must create a Pearson VUE web account. Please note that account activation may require up to 24 hours. When creating your account and scheduling your exam, you will need your CrossFit candidate ID number from the authorization-to-test email.
After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
