UML (OCUP), Real-time and Embedded (OCRES), and BPM (OCEB) Certifications
In the Americas, EMEA, and India, these Certifications are administered and awarded by the OMG, as described on this page. In Asia (except for India) they are awarded by the UML Technology Institute (UTI), as described at http://www.umlcert.org/en/index.html.

OMG Certifications
OMG’s certification programs let you demonstrate your knowledge of its widely-used IT industry standards.
OMG-Certified UML Professional (OCUP)
Awarded at three levels–Fundamental, Intermediate, and Advanced–the OCUP Certification demonstrates candidates’ knowledge of OMG’s Unified Modeling Language (UML), the industry standard for modeling.
OMG-Certified Real-time and Embedded Systems Specialist (OCRES)
Awarded at the Intermediate and Advanced levels, the OCRES Certification demonstrates candidates’ knowledge of OMG’s suite of specifications that form the basis for distributed Real-time and Embedded computing. (The OCUP Fundamental Certification also serves as the Fundamental level for OCRES.)
OMG-Certified Expert in BPM (OCEB)
Currently in beta, this forthcoming certification extends from OMG’s BPM domain specifications (BPMN, BMM, BPMM) to knowledge and skills in Business Process Management. Divided into a Business Track and a Technical Track, the five OCEB certifications cover material important to a candidate’s ability to participate in or lead real-world initiatives in enterprise BPM.
Test Preparation
OCUP: The courses and popular book linked at www.omg.org/ocup are specifically designed to prepare you for the OCUP examinations.
OCRES: The coverage map pages at www.omg.org/ocres include links to download all of the covered specifications and a link to information about the book reference. A study guide for the OCRES examinations is being written.
OCEB: The coverage map pages at www.omg.org/oceb include links to the covered specifications and papers, information about the referenced books, and suggestions for what topics to cover. Study materials and courses for the OCEB examinations are being prepared now. Some will be ready for the Beta program; more will be available when this particular OMG program launches toward the end of 2008.
