The Conference (ICFSEB) Examinations
The International Conference of Funeral Service Examining Boards (ICFSEB) is a not-for-profit voluntary association providing examination services, information and regulatory support to funeral service licensing boards and educators, legislators, and other regulatory agencies, and the public at large in various states, districts, provinces, jurisdictions, and internationally.
As of January 1, 2016 eligible candidates may sit for the NBE or SBE up to three times in one calendar year. Please note, you must wait 90 days before retaking a failed section of the NBE and 30 days before retaking a failed section of the SBE. All candidates will receive their pass/fail results at the testing center following their exam.
These sample examinations are representative of the NBE Arts and NBE Sciences examinations. The content areas of these tests are comparable to those of the actual examination, although the questions on these tests will never appear on an actual examination.
Prior to Scheduling Your Exam Appointment
Prior to scheduling your exam appointment you must have already completed the following—
- Submitted your application and payment to The Conference.
- Allowed at least TWO business days for processing of your application.
- Been certified as eligible to take the exam. (Check with your school to verify this before contacting The Conference.)
Scheduling Your Exam Appointment
You may schedule your test online or through the call center. After you schedule your test, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation letter listing your test date, your testing time, the address and phone number of the test center, and directions to the test center.
In order to schedule your exam appointment you must have your ICFSEB ID. In most cases, this ID is your Social Security Number. If you do not know your ICFSEB ID, please contact The Conference.
You should receive the confirmation within 24 hours of scheduling your exam appointment. If you do not receive an email, please check your spam or bulk email folder for an email from @pearson.com.
Note: If you still do have not received your email after 24 hours and it was not in your spam or bulk email folder, your appointment may not have been completed. Please contact Pearson VUE for assistance.
