Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP)
Coordinated through Professional Testing (PTI)

Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP)

The Certified Cardiac Rehabilitation Professional (CCRP), exclusively for cardiac rehabilitation (CR) professionals, is the only certification aligned with the published CR competencies. AACVPR’s exam assesses proficiency via exam questions that evaluate knowledge of facts, concepts and processes required to complete tasks in the following areas:

  • Patient Assessment
  • Nutrition Management
  • Weight Management
  • Blood Pressure Management
  • Blood Lipid Management
  • Diabetes Management
  • Tobacco Cessation
  • Psychosocial Management
  • Physical Activity Counseling
  • Exercise Training

The exam is based on nation-wide standards. The CCRP certification is awarded by the AACVPR Professional Certification Commission solely upon achievement of a passing score on the exam. There is no requirement for any class, course or other education or training programs provided by AACVPR or any other provider in order to sit for the CCRP examination.

Scheduling your exam appointment

Your Authorization‑to‑Test (ATT) email includes the date range in which you can take your exam. You are responsible for booking your appointment within that timeframe.

Create your Pearson account

You will need a Pearson account before you can schedule your exam. Please allow up to 24 hours for your account to be activated. When creating your account and booking your exam, have your AACVPR candidate ID number ready. This ID appears in the ATT email you received after completing your application and should be entered as your PTI ID.

If you experience any issues with your account, the quickest way to connect with a customer service agent is through the chat feature available on this page.

Schedule, reschedule, or cancel your appointment

You are responsible for managing your own exam appointment. Appointments can be scheduled up to one business day in advance, and test center availability is offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

After you schedule

Once your appointment is confirmed, Pearson will send you a confirmation email that includes your exam date and time, the test center address, and important policies to review before test day.

You will receive a confirmation email whenever you schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please sign in to your Pearson account to verify your appointment status.
