Getting Started

A Check Point User Center or PartnerMAP account profile is required to receive benefits for Check Point certifications. If you do not have a Check Point User Center account please create an account here. If you are not sure about your account status, please contact Account Services for verification.

For results to post to your User Center account, your Pearson account MUST use the same email address as your User Center account.

The Check Point certification path begins with CCSA, followed by CCSE. After earning CCSE, candidates complete two Infinity Specialist Accreditations to advance to CCSM. To reach CCSM Elite, candidates complete two additional Infinity Specialist Accreditations. The full progression is: CCSA → CCSE → two ISAs → CCSM → two more ISAs → CCSM Elite.

Check Point Certified Security Master (CCSM)

The CCSM certification recognizes and validates technical mastery of the Check Point Infinity architecture. It is awarded to cyber security professionals with advanced knowledge and expertise in configuring, deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Check Point products and services.

Check Point Certified Security Master Elite (CCSM‑E)

The CCSM Elite represents the ultimate milestone in the Check Point certification journey. Achieving this rank requires the completion of four Infinity Specialist Accreditations, proving your ability to master diverse challenges from Cloud Security to Advanced Troubleshooting. As a CCSM Elite, you join a globally recognized club of security masters at the forefront of cyber security.

Certification Program Frequently Asked Questions

To ensure your certification appears correctly, your Pearson registration email must exactly match your Check Point User Center email.

The User Center typically updates within 24–72 hours of a passed exam. If these email addresses do not match, your exam results will fail to sync, preventing your certification from being issued or displayed in your profile.

Please contact Check Point Account Services if your passed exam does not reflect in your account after three days. Our team will verify your details to resolve the issue.

You may contact Account Services by phone (+1 972-444-6600, option 3) or by chat/web ticket.

The CCSA certification does not have a prerequisite. The CCSA certification is the prerequisite for the CCSE.

Exam Prerequisite
156-315.81.20 - Check Point Certified Security Expert R81.20 (CCSE) The Candidate must have passed a CCSA or CCSE exam (version R80 and up) to qualify to take the CCSE.
156-315.82 - Check Point Certified Security Expert – R82 (CCSE)

Many of the ISA exams do not have prerequisites. The exams that do have prerequisites are listed below:

Exam Prerequisite
156-582: Check Point Certified Troubleshooting Administrator - R81.20 (CCTA) The Candidate must have passed a CCSA or CCSE exam (version R80 and up) to qualify to take the CCTA.
156-587: Check Point Certified Troubleshooting Expert - R81.20 (CCTE) The Candidate must have passed a CCSE exam (version R80 and up) to qualify to take the CCTE. (Note: A previous version of the CCTE certification is not a prerequisite)

Yes, it still satisfies the requirement for a prerequisite. The CCSA or CCSE does not need to currently active to qualify as a prerequisite.

For example: A candidate with an expired R8X CCSA can still take an R8X CCSE.

All Check Point certifications and accreditations are valid for two years (24 months) from the date of the exam.

The same two-year period applies to the CCSM and CCSM Elite when achieved.

CCSA certifications are not eligible for extensions. To stay current, you should either advance to the CCSE or recertify your CCSA by passing the exam within six months of its expiration date. Recertification grants a new two-year validity period.

You can extend these certifications (before they expire) by passing an Infinity Specialist Accreditation (ISA) exam.

  • CCSE: Can be extended for one year by passing one ISA exam. Passing a second ISA exam will upgrade you to CCSM status.
  • CCSM: Can be extended for one year by passing one ISA exam. Passing a second ISA exam will upgrade you to CCSM Elite status.
  • CCSM Elite: Can be extended indefinitely, one year at a time, for each additional ISA exam passed.

No. You only need to maintain your highest level of certification. For example, if you are a CCSM, you do not need to retake the CCSA or CCSE exams. Your goal should be to reach CCSM Elite status and maintain this highest level of certification.
