The mission of the Carpenters International Certification Council (CICC) is to improve performance, reduce workplace risk, and safeguard personnel by overseeing that only trained, skilled and qualified individuals complete the work.

Certified Rigger & Signaler (CRS) Written Test

To this end, the CICC offers the Certified Rigger & Signaler (CRS) program to individuals who meet the ANSI Safety Requirements for Rigging Qualifications and Responsibilities in the Construction Industry and OSHA 1926 Subpart CC – Cranes and Derricks in Construction. To earn the CRS designation, individuals must pass the CRS written and practical exam, thus demonstrating mastery of the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain safe working environments during basic rigging and signaling operations.

Certified Master Rigger & Signaler/ Lift Director (CMRS/LD) Written Test

Additionally, The CICC offers the Certified Master Rigger & Signaler/Lift Director (CMRS/LD) program to individuals who meet the ANSI Safety Requirements for Rigging Qualifications and Responsibilities in the Construction Industry, ASME B30 Standards on Cranes and Related Equipment, and OSHA 1926 Subpart CC – Cranes and Derricks in Construction. To earn the CMRS/LD designation, individuals must pass the CMRS/LD written test and possess the Certified Rigger and Signaler (CRS) credential or the Rigger and Signaler Qualification , thus demonstrating mastery of the knowledge and skills necessary to maintain safe working environments during basic rigging and signaling operations.

Overhead Crane Certified Operator (OCCO) Written Test

The CICC also offers the Overhead Crane Certified Operator (OCCO) program to individuals who meet the standards set forth by OSHA 1926 Subpart CC – Cranes and Derricks in Construction and OSHA 1910.179 Overhead and Gantry Cranes. To earn the OCCO designation, individuals must pass the OCCO written and practical exam, thus demonstrating mastery of the knowledge and skills necessary to safely work in overhead crane operations.

All examination centers are equipped to provide access in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, and every reasonable accommodation will be made in meeting a candidate’s needs. If you require a special accommodation and have not requested one during the authorization process, please contact your Local Training Center. Please note that all Special Examination Arrangement requests must be approved by the CICC prior to the time of registration.

Examination Requirements

Before you can schedule your examination, you must submit a request for testing to your Local Training Center.

Cancel / Reschedule / No Show

If you cannot attend your scheduled exam and do not Cancel or Reschedule with Pearson VUE within 48-hours of your appointment, you are considered a No Show. You must contact your Local Training Center and advise them you were a No Show for your exam, and you need to submit a request for testing.
