The Certified Mission Critical Professional (CMCP) Certification Program, administered by Mission Critical Global Alliance (MCGA), validates the knowledge of professionals working within all mission critical roles. A group of industry professionals convened to develop the requirements for the CMCP assessment. CMCP is geared toward professionals working within all mission critical environments, including Chemical, Commercial Facilities, Communications, Critical Manufacturing, Dams, Defense Industrial Base, Emergencies Services, Energy, Financial Services, Food and Agriculture, Government Facilities, Healthcare and Public Health, Information Technology, Nuclear Reactors, Materials, and Waste, Transportation Systems, and Water and Wastewater Systems.
Eligibility Requirements
The CMCP credential is open to any individual seeking to obtain the Certified Mission Critical Professional Certification. However, strongly recommend that candidates have a minimum of the following:
- Two year Associate’s Degree (with coursework in an information technology or operations technology related field, such as engineering or information technology), including a minimum of 6 months (2 quarters) of related co-op experience or an equivalent apprenticeship of at least 6 months; OR
- Two years of related work experience in a field such as information technology, operational technology, engineering, cybersecurity, military, or other mission critical fields; OR
- Any combination of the two totaling two years of experience or education, with a minimum of 6 months hands on experience.
CMCP Registration Process

Prepare for the CMCP Assessment

The Day of the Assessment
Please be prepared to show two forms of original (no photo copies), valid (unexpired) IDs; one form as a primary ID (government issued with name, recent recognizable photo, and signature. Examples include: Passport or Driver’s License) and one form as a secondary ID (with at least a name and signature, or name and recent recognizable photo).
