CoSN® - Consortium for School Networking

Demonstrate your expertise and experience as an EdTech leader with certification from the Consortium for School Networking® (CoSN®).

For K-12 education technology leaders, earning the Certified Education Technology Leader® (CETL®) certification will demonstrate to your staff, superintendent, and other stakeholders that you have mastered the knowledge and skills needed to define the vision for and successfully build 21st-Century learning environments in your education organization.

The CETL® program is the only practice-based certification program available to education technology leaders that bridges technical knowledge, understanding of the educational environment, leadership and vision, and the management of technology and support resources needed to integrate technology across the curriculum to advance student outcomes.

The CETL® program is also a professional development tool that can be used to guide EdTech leaders' study of learning technologies. This certification requires satisfaction of eligibility criteria, the passage of a rigorous multiple-choice exam; adherence to a Code of Conduct; and recertification process every three (3) years.

For information on the CoSN certification programs, please visit https://www.cosn.org/certification, email certification@cosn.org, or call +1-202-558-0059.

The CETL® Candidate Handbook (accessible at https://www.cosn.org/certification) contains valuable information regarding the certification program’s scope, eligibility requirements, application process, applicable fees, exam content, exam preparatory resources, exam administration logistics, and recertification requirements.

All candidates should carefully review the CETL® Candidate Handbook during the application process and before taking the certification examination.

Candidates must take the CoSN certification exam in person at an authorized Pearson VUE Testing Center. Exams are delivered on-site using the testing center’s secure computer equipment and internet connection, under the supervision of trained proctors.

Testing centers follow Pearson VUE’s standardized procedures to ensure consistent, fair, and secure testing experience for all candidates.

Your Candidate ID # and Client Authorization ID # (as they appear on your Authorization to Test (ATT) Notice) are required to schedule your exam.
