Delegated Examining (DE) Certification Assessment
The purpose of the Delegated Examining Certification Assessment is to objectively assess a HR Practitioner’s knowledge and application of key DE concepts, rules, and process steps to independently perform delegated examining work. The DE Certification Assessment consists of 50 multiple-choice questions. The HR Practitioner will have up to 90 minutes to complete the assessment unless a special accommodation has been made in advance.
DE Certification Assessment Enrollment
Before registering for a DE Certification Assessment appointment, a HR Practitioner must have received an enrollment confirmation from the DE Certification Program website, including registration information and instructions on how to schedule the DE Certification Assessment. Personal Items
For the duration of the DE Certification Assessment session, the use or attempted use of personal items is prohibited, such as:
- Mobile Devices or Cameras
- Watches
- Cellular Phones
- Personal Notes
- Handheld Computers
- Study Materials
- Any Communication or Recording Devices
- Handbag, Briefcase, or Backpack
All personal items will be stored in a designated locked area of the testing center for the duration of the DE Certification Assessment. HR practitioners will not have access to locked personal items for the duration of the DE Certification Assessment unless a reasonable accommodation is approved prior to registering for the assessment.
Resources Available During the DE Assessment
The Delegated Examining Operations Handbook (DEOH) and Appendix A of the VetGuide are provided as electronic resources during the assessment, as well as an acronym list and two group coverage qualification standards. You will also have access to make electronic notes.
Test Center Arrival
When scheduling an in-person assessment, you should allow a total of two hours to include arriving 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment time to complete check-in procedures. You will not be allowed to take the assessment if you arrive later than 15 minutes after your appointment start time and a seat is unavailable to accommodate your full testing time. You will forfeit your assessment fee and will be required to start a new enrollment before rescheduling your appointment.
Reasonable Accommodations
If you require special accommodations, you cannot schedule your DE Certification Assessment until the Reasonable Accommodations have been approved by the Federal HR Institute (FHRI) and confirmed with PDRI. Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
You must contact Pearson VUE or access your online Pearson VUE account to reschedule or cancel your DE Certification Assessment appointment at least 48 hours prior to your appointment. DE Certification Assessment appointments cannot be rescheduled or cancelled less than 48 hours prior to your appointment. Failure to reschedule in time or failure to appear for your appointment will result in the forfeiture of the testing fee paid by your organization.
