The European Board of Gastroenterology & Hepatology
The European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (EBGH) Examination is designed to asses a candidate’s knowledge and understanding of the clinical sciences relevant to specialist medical practice, and of common or important disorders to a level appropriate for a newly appointed gastroenterology and hepatology specialist.
The format of the EBGH Examination is as follows:
- Best-of-five format with clinical scenarios
- Two three-hour papers of 100 questions each
Additional features are:
- One annual diet per specialty
- Electronic test taken on a computer at a testing centre
Candidates who are Gastroenterology/Hepatology trainees, mostly will sit the examination in their penultimate year of specialist training.

Registration
Applications for this exam must be made on the EBGH Examination website and test scheduling will be completed by EBGH Administrators and Pearson VUE on your behalf. For more details, please visit the EBGH Examination.
Cancelling
Please note that any subsequent cancellation of your test must be conducted through the EBGH Administrators.
