Contracting Certification Exam Eligibility

Individuals who have completed all the required FAC-C (Professional) training—CON 1100V, CON 1200V, CON 1300V, and CON 1400V—are eligible to take the Contracting Certification Exam. Workforce members will gain access to and need to register for the CON 3990V Contracting Certification Exam through FAI CSOD. Within 24 hours of registration, they will receive a welcome email from pearsonvueconfirmation@pearson.com, containing all necessary information to schedule the exam. If the email is not received, candidates are advised to check their junk mail or contact FAI at FAIregistrar@fai.gov if it remains missing.

Examination Options

Candidates have two options for taking the CON 3990V Contracting Certification Exam:

Option 1: In-person at a Pearson Vue Professional Test Center or a Military test center. Candidates should schedule their exam at a local test center. If a local Pearson Vue test center is not available and virtual testing is not a viable option, the candidate must obtain agency-approved travel authorization prior to scheduling at a test site outside their local area. FAI will not cover any travel costs.

Option 2: Virtual exam from home or office, using OnVUE online proctoring. This option may require the use of a personal computer, as most government IT systems do not permit the necessary software add-on. More information about OnVUE proctoring and IT requirements can be found at Pearson VUE’s website.

Matthew is this correct? I wasn't sure if our contract automatically allows for this

Personal Identification Requirements

Proper identification is required at the time of the exam, and the name on the ID must match the name in the testing system. If the Authorization to Test email contains a different name than what is listed on a government-issued ID, candidates should email FAIregistrar@fai.gov with documentation to update their profile before scheduling the exam. For further details, refer to the Pearson VUE ID Policy.

Reasonable Accommodations

Candidates who need accommodations should email their agency-approved accommodation letter to fairegistrar@gsa.gov. FAI will coordinate with Pearson VUE to update their profile. Common accommodations include extra time, breaks, a separate room, or a reader. Some Comfort aids are pre-approved and do not require authorization. These aids will be allowed in the test room upon visual inspection by testing staff.
