IAB Certification Programs
IAB Certification offers digital media and advertising professionals targeted certification programs designed to demonstrate competence in the digital media and advertising industry. IAB Certification programs establish and measure the baseline digital industry knowledge required for digital advertising professionals. Professionals who obtain and maintain the Digital Media Sales, Digital Media Buying and Planning, Digital Marketing and Media Foundations, or Digital Ad Operations credential, demonstrate to clients, employers, and peers their dedication to the profession and commitment to upholding high standards of ethical and professional practice.
Digital Media Sales Certification (DMSC)
The DMSC certification is for professionals that are consultative, critical thinking, marketing professionals tasked with driving revenue by selling digital advertising. The salesperson accomplishes this by understanding the digital ecosystem, recognizing the client’s marketing objectives, and providing impactful solutions.
Digital Media Buying & Planning Certification (DBPC)
The DBPC certification is for professionals that are consultative, critical thinking, marketing professionals tasked with driving reach to the highest possible number of people in a selected target audience while decreasing related cost. Media Buyers and Planners discover, purchase and analyze advertising space and time for their clients. They also determine the best platforms to use to optimize targeted reach.
Digital Ad Operations Certification (DAOC)
The DAOC certification is for professionals that work closely with advertisers and agencies to deliver exceptional customer service throughout the media buying lifecycle, to include creative management, launch confirmation, and pacing confirmation. This includes providing quality assurance, logging traffic, pulling campaign placement reports, entry of proposals, and reviewing the status of campaigns in order to optimize their performance, while assisting the Ad Sales, Marketing, and Product teams in formulating media plans.
Digital Marketing and Media Foundations Certification (DMFC)
The DMFC certification is for professionals that support companies throughout the media buying lifecycle. Representative companies include advertisers, agencies, media properties, and/or technology platforms. They often have a solid understanding of Digital Marketing and Media and the overall digital media ecosystem enabling this associate to complete campaign planning, execution, and analysis tasks for a range of Digital Marketing and Media departments.
Application information
Before you schedule an exam appointment, make sure you have:
- completed the online application;
- paid the required fee; and
- received your Authorization‑to‑Test (ATT) email from IAB Certification.

Scheduling your exam appointment
Once you receive your Authorization-to-Test ATT email, you can schedule your exam appointment. Your ATT email includes the date range in which you are eligible to test, your exam module, and your 20‑character candidate ID (PTI ID). Please have this information ready when scheduling.
Create your Pearson account
You will need a Pearson account before you can schedule your exam. When creating your account, use the same name, phone number, and email address that you provided to IAB Certification in your application. You will also be asked to enter your 20‑character PTI ID.

Schedule, reschedule, or cancel your appointment
You are responsible for managing your own exam appointment. Appointments can be scheduled up to one business day in advance, and test center availability is offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
After you schedule
Once your appointment is confirmed, Pearson will send you a confirmation email that includes your exam date and time, the test center address, and important policies to review before test day.
You will receive a confirmation email whenever you schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment.
If you do not receive a confirmation email, please sign in to your Pearson account to verify your appointment status.
