FAQs for IBM Assessment Exams
Profile creation
If you have ever taken an IBM Certification or Mastery Test, you have a Candidate Testing ID. You can find your Candidate Testing ID on any previous IBM Testing Score Report or emails from the IBM Professional Certification Program.
If you do not have or do not know your Candidate Testing ID, you can create a profile with Pearson VUE. Click on Create an Account and select the No, I do not have a Candidate Testing ID option.
To change your name, please contact a Pearson VUE Registration Center. The agent will explain the process and where to send the required documentation for a name change.
You can update your address, phone or email by signing in to your IBM account with Pearson VUE. Click on Log in .
To determine if you have more than one profile with Pearson VUE, please contact a Pearson VUE Registration Center. The agent will guide you through the process to address any duplicate records or accounts.
Use the account recovery process . Click on either Forgot my username or Forgot my password, as appropriate.
Purchasing
Pearson VUE accepts Master Card, VISA, American Express and JCB as well as vouchers.
Vouchers are not required.
Exam administration
After you have completed the purchase, you can start your exam by clicking on the Begin Exam button.
If you encounter a blank screen or error message when you start the exam, your computer system may not meet the minimum requirements to run the exam.
System requirements: The computer system you use for this test must meet these minimum requirements:
Internet browsers | Edge, Firefox, Safari and Chrome current version |
Mobile devices | iOS and Android devices are not supported. |
Network connection | Pearson VUE strongly recommends using a wired network rather than a wireless network, since a wired network provides better exam delivery performance. |
Internet connection | Broadband (DSL, cable, or LAN/WLAN): 1 Mbps up/down minimum Dial-up Internet connections are not supported. |
Browser settings | Internet cookies must be enabled. Ensure any security software will not block the execution of JavaScript. |
Once you start the test, each exam is timed individually. The amount of time you are allowed will be explained during the purchasing process.
NOTE: You MUST start and complete your exam within the 72 hour exam delivery period.
To resume the exam, follow these steps:
- Please Log in.
- Enter your username and password.
- Select the exam under “Open Online Exams.”
- Select the “Resume Exam” button.
You can cancel the exam and receive a refund as long as (a) you have not started it and (b) the delivery period has not expired. Follow these steps:
- Please Log in.
- Click on "Cancel exam."
Score reports
To access your score report, please Log in. When you take a test at a Pearson VUE Test Center, the test administrator will provide you with a printed score report before you leave the center.
To get a copy of your score report, please Log in.
On the Pearson VUE website you will have access only to the score reports for exams you have taken with Pearson VUE. Please visit the IBM My Learning site for additional information about exams you have taken in the past.
The name on your score report cannot be changed after the test has been taken. Please make sure your name is correct before you start the exam.
You can expect to see your results reflected on the IBM My Learning within 2 days after the completion of your test. If you do not see your score reflected, please open a ticket with the IBM Credential Helpdesk and select Certification Candidates from the left side navigation.
