Massachusetts Division of Insurance

The Massachusetts Division of Insurance has selected Pearson as the official provider for all insurance licensing examinations and continuing education.

Scheduling with Pearson opens July 6 for exam appointments starting July 22. Remote testing will no longer be offered. All candidates are required to test in person at an authorized Pearson test center.

Candidates testing on or before July 16 should continue to schedule their exams through Prometric.

IMPORTANT: There will be a testing blackout period for all exams from July 17–21.

Pearson offers 29 test centers within Massachusetts, 97 locations in neighboring states, and access to more than 300 test centers nationwide. Candidates may register online or by phone.

Examination scheduling information

Please VERIFY that you have created your web account with your LEGAL name as it appears on your government-issued ID and that your personal information is CORRECT. Contact customer service immediately to correct the spelling of your name or update your personal information if you notice any errors. It is very important that this information is correct, as it will appear as it was entered on the documentation provided to you after you have completed the exam, as well as on any reports to your licensing agency.

Appointments may be made up to one calendar day prior to the day you wish to test, subject to availability.

Attention Motor Vehicle Damage Appraiser Candidates

Read First: To register for the Motor Vehicle Damage Appraiser (MVDA) examination, candidates must obtain an exam voucher from the Massachusetts Division of Insurance (MA DOI) before each exam attempt. Vouchers are issued per attempt, and registration cannot be completed without a valid voucher. Once received, candidates may schedule the exam through Pearson. To request a voucher, please contact the MA DOI using the information below at MVDA.mailbox@mass.gov.**
