Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure® (MTEL®)

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education contracted with the Evaluation Systems group of Pearson for the development, administration, and scoring of the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure® (MTEL®). The purpose of the MTEL program is to help ensure that all candidates seeking licensure in Massachusetts have the knowledge and skills necessary for entry-level teaching in Massachusetts public schools.

Visit the Massachusetts Tests for Educator Licensure website to register, pay for your exam, and schedule, reschedule, or cancel your appointment. Appointments are available on a first-come, first-served basis, and availability may vary.
