Q. Am I able to schedule into any 2027 date when scheduling opens?

Q. How do I find a testing center near me?
A. Please visit National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME) certification testing with Pearson VUE and click 'Find a test center' to see where you will be able to test when you’re ready to register and schedule your COMLEX-USA Level 3 exam.
Q. How do I register for Level 3 in 2027?
A. Log into your NBOME account and navigate to the ‘Purchase Exams’ section of your account to register for the exam beginning in 2027. If you are already registered for a 2026 exam, you must cancel your current registration before you are able to register for a 2027 exam. Please note you must request and receive attestation approval from your residency program before the COMLEX-USA Level 3 exam will be available for purchase,
Q. If I cancel my 2026 registration, will I be charged a fee?
A. If you are not scheduled or if it is 30 or more days from your scheduled exam date, you will not be charged for canceling your registration. If you are within 30 days of your exam date, you will be charged a cancelation fee as published here.

Q. How soon can I schedule my exam?
A. After registering for COMLEX-USA Level 3, you may schedule your exam 40 or more days from the start of the testing window for your desired exam date. For example, if you want to test between May 17 and June 5, you will need to schedule your exam by April 7, 2027. Q. If I want a refund for my Level 3 exam, how can I obtain it?
A. To get a refund, you will need to have a status of "Registered but not Scheduled" in your NBOME account. If you are scheduled for an appointment, you will need to cancel your exam before your exam status changes to "Registered but not Scheduled." Once your status has changed, login to your NBOME account, click the "Request Refund" button on your "My Exams" page, and confirm that you would like to receive a refund. The transaction will be processed to your credit card within 3-5 business days.
Q. How long will I have the ability to reschedule?
A. You have up to 24 hours before your scheduled exam date to reschedule or cancel your appointment. Failure to reschedule or cancel within 24 hours and failure to appear at the testing center will cause your exam to be deemed a "No Show," and a cancellation fee will be assessed.
Q. When will I see my scheduled exam date reflected in my account?
A. Your scheduled exam date will immediately be reflected in your NBOME account.
Q. What if I’m scheduled for 2026 and want to reschedule into 2027?
A. If you are scheduled for 2026, you will need to cancel your current exam appointment dates. This will trigger a refund to your credit card, which will appear within 3-5 business days. Once your exam appointment is cancelled, navigate to the "Purchase Exams" page in your NBOME account and purchase the COMLEX-USA Level 3 exam for 2027. Then, you can navigate to the "My Exams" page to schedule your 2027 exam date.
Q. I’ve been previously approved to receive test accommodations for COMLEX-USA exams. What do I need to do to ensure I receive the appropriate accommodations for my Level 3 exam?
A. You may apply for the same testing accommodations you received for previous COMLEX-USA exams by completing the form available on our website at Test Accommodations - NBOME before registering for your COMLEX-USA Level 3 exam so the approved accommodations can be added to your testing profile before scheduling your exam.
What to Expect on Exam Day
Note about Names: The name on your ID must match your name in the NBOME portal. If your legal name has changed since you registered for the exam, you must submit a name change request to clientservices@nbome.org at least 5 days before the exam.
Examination Duration
The COMLEX-USA Level 1, Level 2-CE, and Level 3 exams last approximately nine hours each and include a brief tutorial and designated break times. You are responsible for knowing the examination format, including both examination times and break times. The tutorial is intended for familiarization with exam navigation and testing tools; any remaining tutorial time may be used with the provided note-taking materials
Scheduled Breaks
You will receive a pool of 60 minutes of break time for each examination day and have the option of using it over seven scheduled breaks.
