About NMIMS

Established in 1981 by Shri Vile Parle Kelavani Mandal (SVKM), Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) was founded to address the growing need for quality management education in India.

NMIMS has distinguished itself as one of India's premier educational institutions through its academic excellence, research initiatives, faculty from prestigious national and international backgrounds, and strong industry connections. In recognition of its standards, NMIMS received deemed-to-be university status in 2003 under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956 and was granted Category-I in Graded Autonomy Regulation by UGC/MHRD in 2018.

Over its 43-year history, NMIMS has evolved from one of India's top 10 business schools into a comprehensive multi-disciplinary university with eight campuses located in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Indore, Shirpur, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh. The university encompasses seven diverse departments: Management, Engineering & Technology, Science, Commerce, Architecture & Design, Liberal Arts, Humanities & Behavioral Science, and Law.
