To schedule, reschedule and cancel exam:
National Recruitment Office (NRO) Assessments
NRO assessments are designed to assess applicants with the required level of competence for joining the NHS postgraduate medical training programme or scheme they have applied to. The assessments provide scenarios in the workplace for applicants to demonstrate their judgement about the most appropriate behaviours in that context and, scenarios that test how applicants apply their clinical knowledge to make clinical decisions.
Registration and scheduling
Scheduling a NRO assessment with Pearson starts with registration on this site by creating a NRO specific Pearson account. Once the window for applications has closed, applicants will receive correspondence from their recruitment lead containing specific account credentials and instructions that will enable them to register with an account. Upon the subsequent completion of essential eligibility checks, applicants will receive an invite correspondence from their recruitment lead confirming authorisation to the sit the relevant exam and instructions on how to schedule it.
Changing an exam
You can change a scheduled booking, if necessary, by simply rescheduling. If you book a place but decide not to attend, you must cancel your booking at least 24 hours before the assessment is due to be delivered.
If a test is cancelled by Pearson (e.g. in the event of an unexpected test centre closure), applicants will be able to book a new appointment immediately, subject to availability.
Special adjustments
If you require any special adjustments to the assessment (for example, wheelchair access or extra time), please contact the recruitment lead for your specialty before you schedule a place, so that we can ensure your needs can be accommodated at your chosen test centre.
