The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA)

The Ohio Health Care Association (OHCA) represents more than 1,300 long-term care and support service providers, including assisted living communities, skilled nursing care facilities, home care and hospice providers, and organizations serving individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (ID/DD).

The Educational Foundation of Ohio Health Care Association (EFOHCA), is the educational arm of OHCA and was created to provide quality educational materials and training opportunities to the estimated 100,000 long-term and post-acute care professionals in Ohio.

Through CarePathways, OHCA and EFOHCA are partnering with Pearson to deliver flexible, innovative training opportunities for caregivers across Ohio’s long-term care facilities. By investing in the skills and growth of the professionals in our field, we’re strengthening the workforce, enhancing the quality of care for older Ohioans, and investing in the people who make compassionate care possible every day.

  • Purchase – Residential or Assisted Living facilities can buy the CarePathway bundle for facility staff by visiting the product page. Each bundle includes a comprehensive, self-paced, online education course and an exam voucher to complete the proctored assessment.
  • Learn – Access our comprehensive digital learning resources and interactive modules grounded in real caregiving realities and built around empathy, dignity, and practical skill.
  • Verify – Demonstrate your knowledge by taking our Pearson assessments to verify your competencies against long term health care industry standards.
  • Certify – Obtain your Pearson Credly Credentials. A shareable, portable recognition of your commitment to quality long-term health care.

Are you a learner who has been provided access to the CarePathway?

  • First you must complete the learning course by registering and logging in with your information to access the course.
  • After completing the course and being prepared to take your exam, click on the Create Account / Login buttons on the top of this page to schedule. Have your exam voucher ready at checkout. You will not be able to schedule without your exam voucher.

After you create an OHCA candidate profile you will be ready to schedule your exam by using your exam voucher provided to you by your employer.

  • If you will be testing at your place of employment, please contact your employer for information on how to schedule.
  • If you will be testing at your home, please follow the on-screen instructions in your account to test via Pearson’s OnVUE online testing.
