• Certify — Take your exam through Pearson to earn a globally recognized certification and validate your professional skills.

The Python Institute offers the following certification exams in partnership with Pearson:

PCAP™ – Certified Associate Python Programmer

Python Institute certification exams available through Pearson offer flexibility and convenience. Candidates can choose to take their exam:

• At a test center — in a secure, professional environment at an authorized Pearson location.
• Online with OnVUE — remotely from a quiet, private space using Pearson’s online proctoring system.

Both options maintain the same structure, integrity, and security standards.

You can purchase a Python Institute certification exam in one of two ways:

• Through the OpenEDG Store: Visit the OpenEDG Store to buy an exam voucher for your chosen Python Institute certification. Each voucher can be used to schedule an exam through Pearson, either at a test center or online with OnVUE.
• Directly through Pearson: Sign in or create your Pearson account, select the desired Python Institute exam, and complete payment during registration. You can then choose your preferred delivery option — at a test center or online with OnVUE.

You can schedule your Python Institute certification exam with Pearson at any time — either through your Pearson account or by visiting the Schedule Your Exam with Pearson page for detailed instructions and support. When scheduling, you can choose to take your exam at a test center or online with OnVUE.

All candidates must follow Pearson and program-specific testing rules, including the Candidate Agreement and Code of Conduct. Personal items, reference materials, and electronic devices are not permitted during testing. Breaches of exam rules may result in score cancellation or certification revocation.

All Python Institute certifications earned through Pearson are accompanied by a digital credential that verifies your achievement and can be shared online.

Candidates also receive a secure digital badge issued through Credly, the Python Institute’s official credentialing partner. The badge allows employers, schools, and peers to verify the authenticity of your certification and share your achievement online at any time.
