Application information

Before scheduling an examination appointment, you must have completed the ABPM application, paid the designated fee, met all requirements, and received an authorization-to-test email. For additional information, visit the ABPM website or contact the ABPM certification team at abpm@theabpm.org.

Scheduling your examination

Once you have received an authorization-to-test email, you may schedule your examination appointment. The email will inform you of the date range you may take the examination and will provide you with a 20-character candidate (PTI ID) number. Examination appointments may be made up to one business day in advance and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

To schedule, reschedule or cancel your examination appointment:

Online, you must first create a Pearson VUE web account. When creating your web account, use the same First and Last names and 20-character candidate (PTI ID) number as noted in your authorization-to-test email. For any issues with your online Pearson VUE account, the quickest way to reach a customer service agent is via LET’S CHAT.

Via phone, contact Pearson VUE at 888-876-5064 (US/CAN).

NOTE: To facilitate locating your record, tell the agent that Professional Testing (PTI) sponsors the ABPM examinations.

Outside of United States/Canada, check this link customer service for phone numbers.

After scheduling your examination appointment, Pearson VUE will send a confirmation email listing your examination date and time, the test center address, along with important policies for your review and information.

Confirmation emails are sent for every schedule, reschedule and cancellation of examination appointments.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, verify the status of your examination appointment online or via phone as described above.
