Third Party Risk Association (TPRA)

Furthering the profession of third party risk management (TPRM) through knowledge sharing and networking.

Third Party Risk Association currently provides access to two foundational certifications.  Please review descriptions for each below.

Obtaining a Third Party Cyber Risk Assessor (TPCRA) certification is the standard of achievement for those who assess, monitor, and review third party cyber security and information technology controls, as well as identify and mitigate risk related to said controls. Such roles may include, but not be limited to, Third Party Risk Management Practitioners, Procurement Specialist, Vendor Managers, Auditors, Information Security Professionals, Privacy or Compliance Specialists, or Legal Professionals.

The Third Party Risk Management Practitioner (TPRMP) certification is designed to evaluate and validate a practitioner’s competency in the critical skills of assessing, mitigating, and continuously monitoring third party risks and controls. The certification ensures that candidates are proficient across the entire TPRM lifecycle, including planning and oversight, pre-contract due diligence, contracting, ongoing monitoring, disengagement, and continuous improvement. In addition, the TPRMP covers all major risk domains, such as cyber, financial, reputational, transactional, and operational risks, making it a comprehensive benchmark for excellence in TPRM practice.

Obtaining a TPRMP certification is the standard of achievement for Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) professionals. Such professionals may include, but not be limited to, Third Party Risk Management Practitioners, Procurement Specialist, Vendor Managers, Auditors, Information Security Professionals, Privacy or Compliance Specialists, or Legal Professionals.

Application information

Before you schedule an exam appointment, make sure you have:

  1. completed the TPRA application;
  2. paid the designated fee;
  3. met all requirements; and
  4. received your Authorization‑to‑Test (ATT) email.

For additional information, please visit the TPRA website or contact the TPRA certification team at info@tprassociation.org.

Scheduling your exam appointment

Your Authorization‑to‑Test (ATT) email includes the date range in which you can take your exam. You are responsible for booking your appointment within that timeframe.

All requests for testing accommodations should be made through TPRA during the application process. If you have already been approved to test by TPRA and would like to add accommodations to your exam authorization, please contact TPRA at info@tprassociation.org.

Create your Pearson account

You will need a Pearson account before you can schedule your exam. When creating your account, use the same name, phone number, and email address that you provided to TPRA in your application. You will also be asked to enter your 20‑character PTI ID.

If you experience any issues with your account, the quickest way to connect with a customer service agent is through the chat feature available on this page.

Schedule, reschedule, or cancel your appointment

You are responsible for managing your own exam appointment. Appointments can be scheduled up to one business day in advance, and test center availability is offered on a first‑come, first‑served basis.

After you schedule

Once your appointment is confirmed, Pearson will send you a confirmation email that includes your exam date and time, the test center address, and important policies to review before test day.

You will receive a confirmation email whenever you schedule, reschedule, or cancel an appointment.

If you do not receive a confirmation email, please sign in to your Pearson account to verify your appointment status.

Reschedule or cancel

You may cancel or reschedule online up to 24 hours before your appointment at no cost. If rescheduling, be sure that you complete all of the steps until the “Your appointment is rescheduled!” screen is displayed. If you do not receive a confirmation email, please sign in with your Pearson account and recheck the status of your appointment as you may not have completed all of the necessary steps.

If you fail to cancel 24 hours prior to your appointment, or if you miss your appointment, arrive late or fail to provide adequate identification, you will forfeit your exam fee and will not be able to schedule a new appointment without paying the TPRA exam retest fee.

Name‑matching requirement

If the first or last name in your registration does not match your photo ID, please email pearson@proftesting.com for assistance.
