Uniform Commission Examination (UCE)

Uniform Commission Examination (UCE)

GENERALIST SAFETY AND SOUNDNESS TESTS

The Uniform Commission Examination (UCE) is a certification program administered by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).  A commission from the Comptroller of the Currency signifies that a National Bank Examiner (NBE) is qualified to lead examinations of national banks and thrift institutions, their affiliates, and bank service corporations.  The UCE supports the OCC’s mission of ensuring the safety, soundness, and fairness of the national banking system by maintaining high standards of competency and professionalism among examiners and commission members.

Phase I and Phase II of the UCE are both administered at Pearson VUE test centers.

UCE Administration

Candidates are identified through an OCC nomination and approval process. Once this process is complete, UCE staff coordinate registration with Pearson VUE and provide candidates with the information and personalized link needed to schedule their exam. Candidates do not self-register directly with Pearson VUE.  All test registration is handled through UCE staff.
