Introductory training begins the certification journey.

The first certification level is the Associate level. To earn the Associate certification, candidates are required to pass the Intermediate exam. An intermediate‑level course is recommended as preparation for this exam. Candidates who meet these requirements earn the Visa Certified Associate credential.

The second certification level is the Professional level. To earn the Professional certification, candidates must already hold the Visa Certified Associate credential and must pass the Advanced exam. An advanced‑level course is recommended to prepare for this exam. Candidates who meet these requirements earn the Visa Certified Professional credential.

This certification path starts at the Associate level and finishes at the Professional level.
