Wisconsin Foundations of Reading / National Evaluation Series™

The Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) has approved the National Evaluation Series as a licensure testing option for Wisconsin educators who hold a valid Professional Educator license and who wish to add a related license in the following content areas: Biology, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science, English Language Arts, History, Mathematics, and Physics. Teacher candidates in Wisconsin applying for an initial license in grades Kindergarten through 5 or special education, or for a license as a reading teacher or reading specialist, will be required to take and pass the Foundations of Reading test, a test of reading instruction knowledge and skills administered by Pearson.
