OpenEDG C++ Institute Certification Program

At the C++ Institute, OpenEDG emphasizes a full learning cycle: preparation, practice, and validation. Our Study → Practice → Certify framework helps you build actual competence and confidence at every phase of your journey.

• Study — Learn C/C++ through structured courses and guided learning paths that build knowledge step by step. Visit the OpenEDG Edube Platform  to access free study resources and start your learning journey. If you feel you need instructor-led training, take advantage of the network of Cisco Networking Academy and OpenEDG Education Partners who offer classroom and online courses.

• Practice — Reinforce your knowledge using practice tests and study kits available in the OpenEDG Store.

• Certify — Take your exam through Pearson to obtain an industry-recognized credential in C or C++.

This structured approach ensures that candidates grow their skills methodically and validate them with industry-recognized exams.

The C++ Institute, in collaboration with Pearson, offers the following certification exams:

C++ Institute certification exams offered through Pearson provide flexibility and convenience. Candidates may choose to take their exam:

• At a test center — in a secure, professional environment at an authorized Pearson location.

• Online with OnVUE — remotely from a quiet, private space using Pearson’s online proctoring system.

Both options maintain the same structure, integrity, and security standards.

You can purchase a C++ Institute certification exam in one of two ways:

1. Through the OpenEDG Voucher Store

Visit the OpenEDG Voucher Store to buy an exam voucher for your chosen C++ Institute certification. Vouchers can be used to schedule an exam through Pearson, either at a test center or online with OnVUE.

2. Directly through Pearson

Sign in or create your Pearson account, select the desired C++ Institute exam, and complete payment during registration. You may then choose your preferred delivery option — test center or online proctoring.

Exam fees may vary by region and currency. Always review the pricing and policies displayed in your Pearson account before confirming your purchase.

You can schedule your C++ Institute certification exam with Pearson at any time — either directly through your Pearson account or via the “Schedule Your Exam with Pearson” page for detailed instructions. When scheduling, choose whether to take your exam at a test center or online with OnVUE.

All candidates must comply with Pearson and OpenEDG C++ Institute testing rules, including the Candidate Agreement and Code of Conduct. Personal items, reference materials, and electronic devices are not allowed during testing. Violations may result in score cancellation or certification revocation.

For full details on testing policies, security measures, and candidate responsibilities, visit the Exam Policies and Code of Conduct page.

All C++ Institute certifications earned through Pearson include a digital credential that verifies your achievement.

Candidates also receive a secure digital badge issued through Credly, the official credentialing partner of OpenEDG. This badge allows employers, institutions, and peers to verify your certification and share it online at any time.

To verify a credential or learn more about digital badging, visit the Credential Verification and Digital Badging page.
