Here you can find the essential information you need to book and sit your test, including scheduling guidance, identification requirements, test day expectations, results information, and contact routes for support.

This assessment forms part of the RCSI CST application process. Candidates are responsible for reviewing the applicable requirements, policies, and be aware of timelines shared by RCSI before booking.

Before booking your test, please ensure that the email address used in your Pearson profile is the same email address you intend to use for your CST application with RCSI. You will require your Irish Medical Council registration number as your unique identifier throughout the process.

You can schedule your aptitude test through the Pearson registration system for the RCSI CST selection process.

Before confirming your booking with Pearson, make sure you review the available appointments, test centre options, and your contact details carefully.

Ensure that you received your booking confirmation after scheduling. Your test will be delivered at the authorized Pearson test centre that you have chosen.

You should arrive in good time for your appointment, we recommend arriving at least 15 minutes before your appointment time and ensure that you bring the required identification. Late arrival for more than 15 minutes or failure to present acceptable ID may affect your ability to test.

Candidates must present valid identification on testing day that matches the name used during registration.

Admission Policy – Identification Requirements

To be admitted to the test, candidates must present valid identification that exactly matches the name used during registration.

Primary Identification

  • Must be a valid, government-issued ID, examples:
    • National ID card
    • Driver’s license
    • International Passport
      *IDs from Private Sectors will not be accepted
  • Must include:
    • Your name as registered in your profile
    • Your photograph
    • Signature

Key Requirements

  • The name on the ID must exactly match the name on the test appointment.
  • IDs must be original (no copies) and not expired.
  • Failure to provide acceptable ID will result in denial of admission and forfeiture of the test appointment.

Comfort Aids

Certain items are permitted in the testing room as comfort aids. These items must comply with Pearson policies and may be inspected by test centre staff.
