About the Building Cleaning Management Field Specified Skilled Worker (i) Evaluation Test
This is a skills test for those who wish to work in Japan as a “Specified Skilled Worker (i) (Building Cleaning Management).”
This test confirms your skill and knowledge in the area of building cleaning management.
Qualifications for Taking the Test
- Be at least 17 years of age on the date of the test. However, Indonesian nationals must be at least 18 years old on the test date.
- Those who take the test in Japan must have valid residence status.
Test Content and Duration
The test consists of a written test and a practical test. All will be conducted in Japanese.
Written test: 20 questions (60% or more of the full score is required to pass), Duration: 20 minutes
Practical test: 30 questions (60% or more of the full score is required to pass), Duration: 30 minutes
In addition to the total 50-minute test, you will be required to agree to a confidentiality agreement, complete a tutorial, and complete a questionnaire, which will take 10 minutes.
Test Fees
When taking the test in Japan: 4,400 yen (including 10% consumption tax)
When taking the test outside of Japan: US$30
Procedures from Online Registration and Reservation to Taking the Test
In order to take the Building Cleaning Management Field Specified Skilled Worker (i) Evaluation Test with Pearson VUE, you must register for a user account. Click on “Create an account” and follow the prompts to register as a user. If you already have an account, please proceed to Step 2.
*Please note that you will not be allowed to take the test if the name you registered differs from the name on the identification document you present at the test center on the day of the test.
Enter the user name and password registered in Step 1 to schedule the test.
*If you have a voucher, please click “Add Voucher or Promo Code” when you enter your payment and billing information, enter your voucher number, “Apply” and complete your reservation.
*You will receive an email confirming your reservation when your reservation is complete.
Deadlines for reservations, changes or cancellations
- Reservation deadline: 11:59 p.m. on the day before the desired test date
- Change/cancellation deadline: 24 hours prior to the currently reserved date and time
Note: Each deadline is the deadline on the online reservation site. Reservations, changes, and cancellations made through customer service must be completed within the respective time limits and during customer service business hours. Reservations cannot be changed or cancelled after the deadline.
Payment method
The test fee can only be paid by credit card and voucher.

Prepaid vouchers are available if a company or school is responsible for payment of the test fee. The minimum purchase is 10 tests (10 people). For details on how to purchase the prepaid vouchers, please refer to the link below. After purchasing the prepaid voucher, distribute the voucher number to each person taking the test.

Arrival time
On the day of the test, please arrive at the test center at least 15 minutes before the test start time to complete the check-in procedures. Late arrivals will not be allowed to take the test and will not receive a refund of the test fee.
What to bring
One valid identification document must be presented at the time of check-in. For more information, please refer to the following page. If the name on the reservation is different from the name on the identification document, you will not be allowed to take the test. If a test is not approved due to a name mismatch, the test fee will not be refunded.

No personal belongings are allowed in the test room. We recommend that, you don’t bring anything that you don’t need for the test.
Laminated white notebooks and pens (quick-drying water-based pens) will be distributed at the check-in desk, so you can take notes during the test.

Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA)
You must agree to a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before you can take the test at the test center. The NDA is primarily an agreement not to disclose to third parties the content of the questions and answers. If you do not agree, you will not be permitted to start the test. If you do not agree and do not take the test, the test fee will not be refunded. If any prohibited activities specified in the agreement are confirmed after the test, certification may be revoked by the certification body, or you may be prohibited from taking future tests.
The results of the test will be communicated to you in the following two ways.
- Score report
Immediately after taking the test, you will receive a printed score report (pass/fail) at the test center.
The same score report can also be viewed later on the Pearson VUE user account page.
Note: The score report is not an official pass certificate.
- Official pass certificate
Once it has been decided that the test-taker who has passed the test and the host institution will enter into an employment contract, the test-taker will apply for the certificate and pay the issuance fee of 11,000 yen (including 10% consumption tax). JBMA will then issue the official pass certificate.
Any person who attempts to take or has taken the test by dishonest acts or means will be barred from taking the test for a period of up to five years.
If you have taken the test by dishonest acts or means and pass the test, certification will be revoked and you will be required to return the official pass certificate. Please note that the test fee and the fee for issuing the official pass certificate will not be refunded.
Personal information received at the time of application for the test or at the test center will be used to administer the test, issue a pass certificate, and review the Specified Skills System, in accordance with the personal information protection regulations of the JBMA. Please note that personal information may be provided to administrative agencies in Japan or your country of origin.
